Community Connection & Engagement
Building bridges between Middle Eastern communities and the broader public is the reason behind the very existence of The Center. A strong sense of community is essential for fostering belonging and mutual support in an increasingly fragmented world.
Education is Transformative
Knowledge and education are the tools by which a person builds their livelihood. The Center will focus on language education to ensure participants have the ability to live their lives as they see fit.
Cultural Preservation & Celebration
The Center seeks to showcase Middle Eastern cultural history can be preserved and celebrated while embracing all the beauty of Rhode Island. We can celebrate our history while appreciating all that we currently have.
Integration
Many people feel isolated and alone in the world. This is especially true for Middle Eastern migrants who come to the United States without a strong grasp of the English language. Integrating into a new culture can be as daunting as it is confusing.
Empowerment
We believe that a community is only as strong as its weakest member. The Center will empower immigrants in their daily lives by equipping them with resources, education, and a welcoming space that fosters confidence, independence, and an active civic life.
Inclusivity
All are welcome in The Center. A hub of community cannot exist when even one is excluded for their origin. Regardless of ethnicity, religion, or gender, at The Center we believe everyone has meaningful experiences to share. These shared experiences strengthen our experience.
